Anime K-ON! November Birthday Time

Friday, November 11th is Nakano Azusa’s birthday and the TBS (Japan) through their shop is giving away 1111 special cards to celebrate the occasion.

I’ll be celebrating by doing live casting of K-ON! related content and, also, remember Hirasawa Yui’s birthday is 11/27

The first episode of the second season of Squid Girl couldn’t get much inked up, as Ika starts worrying that humans might be out to hunt her down, thinking that man-made objects are bombs and all sorts of random weaponry… but when Chizuru opens her eyes, you know something bad is brewing. And what’s up with Sanae?

As usual, our video gallery is located below. Due to the lack of fansubbing groups doing Ika Musume 2, at the time of obtaining a release, Underwater-Subs had (only) released a fansub. Their release is a 10bit H.264 release… Which possibly means that older PCs will have trouble decoding it – ours had some minor problems with colour.

Tasty-Subs: Clannad ~After Story~ Batch 3 released

Tasty-Subs, whose fansub releases are irresistibly good, did it again, and here’s batch three of their flagship release, Clannad ~After Story~. Same rules apply: kick the image enhancement filters to where no filter has gone before. Ask the staff, they’ll even agree that it’s what BluRay should have been.

Torrents and direct downloads are here which are available in 1080p, 720p, and 480p flavours. A double dose of Clannad is coming later in the week.

The next batch of Clannad ~After Story~ BD episodes has been released by Tasty-Subs, and they look pretty damn good – same rules as last batch: kick all the image enhancements into overdrive.

Released: Pure 1080P Clannad ~After Story~ (3-Way Joint Fansub)

Some anime fansubbing groups eventually die. However, from the ashes, new anime fansubbing legends rise.

Tasty-Subs, the group that I’m a staff member of, has done a three-way joint with the group that Coburn’s Domain did mobile encodes for, Shini-Subs, and another legendary group called Delicio.us.

Now, this release ain’t what you’d expect of normal run-of-the-mill release or bloated releases that other groups are infamous for. Personally, this release is in stunning 1080P quality, after looking at a craptastic encode by another fansubbing group.

Blur has been removed, sharpness has been kicked into overdrive, colors are vivid and it is pure HD bliss. Trust me, you’ll notice the difference when you play this anime on your HD Monitor/TV/whatever.

Due to the just-released nature, we don’t have any torrents, but we’ve got links to the two of the three website groups, complete with screenshots and all that jazz: Tasty-Subs and Delicio.us. Releases will be done in small clusters, as everyone in the fansub groups has real-life commitments to keep.

Downloads are available off the Tasty-Subs website.

Release: Shini-Subs Yumekui Merry Episode 2 Mobile Encode

We had this already uploaded, but here goes. We’ve completed our Mobile Encode of Shini-Subs‘ fansub of Yumekui Merry Episode 2, and it’s ready for your viewing pleasure. Best viewed with Media Player Classic.

This encode can also be played on iPods and portable media players. You can download the episode from here. The CRC32 Checksum should be C33044D7, if it isn’t then you may have a corrupted download – please contact us if that is the case.

Shini-Subs Releases: Mitsudomoe Zouryouchuu! Episode 1 & 2

Our fansubbing friends over at Shini-Subs have just released two episodes of the Mitsudomoe Zouryouchuu! anime. Suffering a loss of a TL (Translator), there’s no karaoke subtitles, but Shini-Subs have still done a remarkable job at releasing these episodes.

AriGold gets a mention, as he had been burning the midnight oil ensuring that these episodes are of high quality fansubbing.

You can download the torrent for episode 1 here, and the torrent for episode 2 here. Please note that they are a v0, meaning some things may be present (ie. grammar issues, etc), but Shini-Subs are working on a v1 as soon as possible.

Coburn’s Note: Also, don’t get Shini-Subs confused with Subway Subs (the food), as they are two completely different things. A spam comment prompted us to say that – they thought Shini-Subs was a type of sub available at Subway.

We’re pleased to annouce our iPod encode of the Yumekui Merry Episode 1 fansub done by Shini-Subs. All credit goes to them as we are only doing re-encodes of their releases for mobile devices, such as iPods and related devices, in which we have obtained permission from Shini-Subs before doing so.

This release is in MP4 format, and should be compatible with Android devices, consoles and iPods.

Our friends at Shini-Subs have recently released the first two episodes of an anime called Yumekui Merry. Involving girls that fight the nightmare army of evil creatures, Shini-Subs still have done a excellent job at translating the episodes. And best of all, it’s high quality, 720p goodness.
