For a while now, we’ve been wanting a automatic system that would post a thread on our Message Forums and thanks to a WordPress plugin, we’ve just installed a Message Forum Sync feature. Everytime we make a new post here on the main page, it will automatically send Mia, our site bot, a message to make a new post in the specified forum category (which is the “Website Content Discussion” category).
This will allow visitors to view articles through the forums and also save bandwidth and time if the visitors are on slow connections. Read more...

Hoshi Anime, run by a user on Twitter called @kyonkun, has been kind enough to link back to Coburn’s Domain. Not only that, Hoshi Anime is offering streaming anime episodes on-demand.
That means if you miss out on your weekly dose of your favorite anime series, just jump on Hoshi Anime and watch your missed episode, without having to wait until it’s on TV. Not too long ago, an Australian modchip supplier was supplying a device that allowed gamers to backup their legit game copies to internal or external USB devices and play them from there.
Unfortunately, the success the device has been shortlived. Sony recently demanded that all orders for this device to be cancelled, in which the manufacturers agreed to and promptly the modchip supplier refunded all the paid orders that were queued. Read more...

It’s been a tough four years for PS3 Owners wanting to play game backups on their beloved PS3, and when an email from a Modchip Supplier floated across our News Inbox, we thought we’d share it around.
OzModChips, an Australian modchip supplier is currently selling a limited number of “PlayStation Plug-n-Play Jailbreak” devices which, as the name suggests, jailbreaks your PlayStation 3 for use with game backups, while also allowing gamers to dump (legit owned) games to external HDDs or USB Devices and playing them directly off there. I’ve just been reviewing the current settings on the Coburn’s Domain 3 Network configuration, and I’ve spotted that our Torrent Seedbox has been sapping way more bandwidth than it should, sapping 35Kb/s of our upload capacity instead of 6Kb/s. I’m going to kick the switch into full throttle again and see how it performs now.
Thanks for your patience while I sort this out.

Coburn’s Domain is currently experiencing some bandwidth issues, and has been put in Reduced Capacity mode. This means that the server will still be running at it’s usual rate, but lag time may increase a little bit. We’ll be running a few diagnostic tests to see what’s causing the bandwidth issue, and we hope it’s nothing too serious.
Parts of the website affected include this main site and forums. However, since downtime will be kept to a minimum (if any at all), so there’s nothing to worry about (eg. getting booted off when the server goes down or anything like that). We’ll keep you posted on our diagnostic results.

Thanks to the law that passed US Courts earlier this year, a one-tap jailbreak called “JailbreakMe” has been an attractive option for people who are running a iPhone 3G/3GS or that snazzy iPhone 4 with a recent iOS 3.1.x or 4.0.x. What this exploit does exploits a exploit inside the iOS itself that allows code execution, without prompting the user. Just one tap and a few seconds later, you’re jailbroken. This allows your iPhone to be released from Apple’s command, run Android on the device and all sorts of awesome stuff like multitasking, speed boosts, etc. JailbreakMe claims to work on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPads. Back in 2008, when Google launched Android, it made a wave in the mobile phone market. While the iPhone back then was a improved iPod Touch, Android paled in contrast when it came to the gaming section. Not anymore. According to an article over at Techeld, it is rumored that Sony might be adding Android into the mix, and as the mock picture suggests above, Sony might be able to produce a PSP Go-sized Android phone along with a Game Pad for playing Android and possibly even PSP games. Recent rumors suggest that the upcoming successor to the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS will have a price tag of $300 USD (US Dollars).
The price of the console itself in question, was seen on Amazon on a “pre-order” 3DS placeholder item with a price tag of 199.99 GBP (British Pounds), which roughly equates to about $400 AUD – $100 more than the price of the original phat Nintendo DS when it first launched. With the positive feedback the new console has been getting, Nintendo may be raking in the money when it hits the store shelves. Read more...
