Internet Explorer 9: “Sleeker, Sexier, Faster and More Room for viewing Webpages!”

According to an article posted on Redmond Pie, a person by the name of Mary Jo Foley from the All About Microsoft website has managed to grab a screenshot of the latest platform test version of Microsoft’s Web Browser, Internet Explorer 9, which was accidentally posted for the world to see on a Russian website. While the screenshot and info has been pulled from the russian website in question, Mary Jo manage to save the details and spill the beans, as follows:

The Microsoft Russia site said there will be a new, simplified navigation bar with IE 9 that will leave “more room for the (Web) site itself.” There will be some navigation tools for commonly used functions — things like a back button and a combined address/search bar. But the numerous menu items in older versions of IE have “been consolidated into one,” the site said. “Now the user sees only what you need to navigate.”

Mary Jo then goes on and explains the inner depths of IE9, which also brings out a interesting feature that may be of some use to IE-only users:

The Russian site also mentioned “tear-off tabs” — a capability that will build on Windows’s Aero Snap feature. Snap allows users to more easily look at two pages, side-by-side by “snapping” them to the sides of their PC screen. Firefox and Safari both already include tear-off tabs, allowing users to select tabbed items and turn them into separate windows.

Internet Explorer 9 is also boasting a better HTML rendering engine, being HTML 5.0 Ready and also offloading web page processing tasks to the GPU (Graphics Card) via using a internal DirectX engine. Fear not, Internet Explorer 9 is not a IE8 with a new coat of paint, according to the Redmond Pie article, it has been written from the ground up, to be more secure, and as a whole, run faster thanks to off-loading work to the GPU.

A beta is expected around September 15th.
