Windows 7 All-In-One Disc Maker

Win7_PC_StickerMany people may not realise that Windows 7 discs are actually one big image of Windows 7, and when manufacturers and end-users install the Operating System, the installation discs install Windows 7 based on your computers product key (for example, the users’ key is for Home Premium, it will install Windows 7 Home Premium). This is similar to the installation model that Microsoft Windows Vista installation discs used.

However, to prevent people from simply just choosing to  install Windows 7 Professional from a Windows 7 Home Premium disc, Microsoft has locked the installer to install a specific version of Windows 7 based on your installation disc(s). A kind developer has developed eiCfgRemover which is a tool that removes this restriction, allowing you to make a All-In-One disc that allows you to install any version of Windows 7 the end-users would desire. For example, you can install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit from a Windows 7 Professional 64bit disc, as the disc is no longer  “restricted” to just one edition of Windows 7.

Users can find the mentioned tool in the Download Directory. Requirements are a DVD Burner, untouched Windows 7 disc ISO (users can make a legit backup of Windows 7 discs using IMGBurn or another tool that allows ISO Dumping), and the tool. Open the tool, point it where the Windows 7 ISO is and presto. Burn the new image to a blank DVD, and it’s good to go. When you install using the newly-burnt disc, it’ll ask you what version of Windows you want to load. Geeks will possibly rejoice that they can now make All-In-One discs, and not have to carry around 8 discs for all the different Windows 7 versions.
