Kanji Tutor: Android Kanji Decoding & Learning App

Droidful has recently released a Android application that allows users to find out what Japanese text says when they are traveling in Japan without a translator, watching anime with subtitles disabled, or just browsing Japanese websites. Not only is it a great tool to find out what that random japanese text says, but users can also take quizzes to make sure their Kanji knowledge is up to date.

The application is in the Android Market, for a low price of $2.49 under the name of “Kanji Tutor”. The android market description is as follows:

v2.1: On+Kun’yomi quizzes

Fun way to learn the nearly 2000 “jōyō” and “kyōiku” kanji.
Quiz yourself flashcard style either by symbol or English language translation. Nice graphs to track progress.

Optional “rewards” keep you motivated!

Keywords: Chinese, Japanese, dictionary, study, review, practice, drill, anime, kyoiku

Package: com.kostmo.kanji

Below are some screenshots of the software in action:

Droidful is also the author of “Anime Character Generator” for Android devices, which allows you to make your own anime characters for use in projects, animations, etc. While the Kanji Tutor program only has been downloaded 500 to 1000 times, this application is for people of all ages that are willing to learn some of the Japanese language in a fun way.
