K-ON! Desktop Accessories Pack

Fans of the K-ON! Anime Series will rejoice at the fact that an official K-ON! Desktop Accessories (called K-ON! DTA) pack has been released a while ago, allowing you to get all of the moe goodness from the anime series, right on your Windows desktop. Linux users shouldn’t feel left out, as most of the accessories will run fine under WINE, a Win32 application wrapper for Linux systems. The pack in question was found on some english BBS thread after a twitter user called @kyonkun linked to it.

After pressing the right buttons in the Japanese installer dialogues, the main program will launch, which in turn allows K-ON Fans to load up Calendars, Desktop Clocks, replace the default Windows mouse cursors, set character voice pack for Windows events (replacing the default sounds for Windows Errors, Information Messages, Prompts – similar to the Windows 7 Nanami Theme Pack) with everything K-ON and even load up a little “K-ON Tea Time Party” app featuring the cast from the series eating cake and drinking tea. Pulling characters away from the table will make them walk around on the screen and sometimes express an emotion, Azusa just yawns and looks un-interested in your activities, while Mio just turns paranoid. Otherwise, they just get in the way of your programming.

All in all, if you’re wanting to spice up your desktop, this pack would be excellent for doing just that. The dashboard application is in japanese, but there’s a few bits and pieces of English sprinkled throughout the apps.

The pack has been confirmed working on Windows 7. Any windows edition from Windows 95 onwards should be able to run the applications. If you experience problems, simply ask your question in our Message Forums Website Content category.

You can download the accessory pack from our new Download Directory. It’s a 221MB Download.
